altar boy.

if you thought the second coming is bad
the third one will be insane

stephan lynch, altar boy.

oh my god.

i'm suppose to be neck deep in PR and comm research assignments due next week.
but here i am, drinking in the afternoon, watching shows i've watched 457438957 times and listening to the most politically wrong singer in the history of comedy central.

this is one of the not so bad ones:
please don't watch it if you have a close relationship with your grandparents.

and don't watch this if you are secretly gay or are homophobic

these are the mild ones already. personally, the special olympics and altar boy take the bait la. blasphemous i know, but hey, give me a break.

the afternoon was spent at janice's "drinking". i would say that because i had one afternoon delight, a b52 made with love from steph.

made with love from steph.

beautiful isn't it?

i attempted it. not bad right?

OH MY GOD.
PR AND COMM RESEARCH HOW?!

i find you too high class.

this pink champagne and caviar are all very grand
but I prefer just rocking to a rock ‘n’ roll band

cliff richard, high class baby.

today for lunch, 9 of us walked around for a good half an hour before finding a suitable place for lunch.

first it was holland village market.
too hot shouchen chirped

then burger king.
aircon broke down, too stuffy anton chirped.

then crystal jade.
expensive lah, ian chirped.

then crappy hor fun place.
no place leh, melissa chirped.

the village nomads finally found their home. at hot, stuffy, expensive, squeezy marmalade pantry. it was everything we didn't want.

but it was good.

i've heard many wonderful reviews of marmalade pantry, from the main courses to their tantalising desserts. today, i understand why.

i had a very filling chicken pot pie which was a hefty $14++. but it was totally worth every chunky piece of chicken.

the pastry was buttery and light but thick and solid enough to provide the carbo to fill u up. the creamy chicken soup inside was just the perfect texture and the chicken was juicy and sweet with a quick shot of pepper. the veggies were not soggy like i thought it might be.

and suprisingly, the side salad went very well with the dish too.

lunch was the prelude to a scrumptious cold rock ice-cream and the discovery of a new dessert bar at chip bee gardens.

Dolci is a dessert bar by dao paulo, the good people who brought you gastronomia. located just next to gastro, dolci serves up shots of your favourite italian desserts.

just look at that clinical bar of handmade desserts. the kitchen was already closed at that time so we couldn't see the process.

i couldn't resist but try the biscotti verona chocolate, this flaky biscotti pastry dipped in verona chocolate, only $2.50 for a big piece.

and it was sex.
literally melt in your mouth, sliding luxuriously down your throat kind of good. it was just the right combi of bitter choc with sweet sugar pastry.

dean had some choc pastry that was puffed with choc cream and slathered with chocolate sauce.

so innocent but so sinful.

and of course, we couldn't help but be us.

lynda may be pretty but she's damn unglam.

Dolci is located at Chip Bee Gardens, Holland Village. Next to gastronomia.
Marmalade Pantry is located at Holland Village, opp Subway.

seems like all mass commers are part of the marmalade pantry gang.

number three jalan kuning.

based on a memory,
it seems like i've been on this road
once too many times before

it was like deja vu.
the sun was beating on my skin, the wind barely enough to keep me dry.
my feet felt the tiny pebbles underneath my shoe as i push myself up a slope.
the air was fresh with a tinge of rain.
a dog barks. the tree rustles. a familiar neighbour jogs past with jeffrey her dog. all too nostalgic, i say. all too nostalgic.

if you haven't heard, i'm back at imsg.

my intern/place where i discovered buried and all consuming love and passion for PR. they've hired me! (uh huh, uh huh).

somethings stay the same.

ian. haiya, ian.

somethings have changed. i have sad news as well: dean and lynda are leaving, and i'll be taking over dean's accounts.

yes dean and lynda of dean, lynda, shouchen and karen, are leaving.

one for the better weather in canada, one for better income (i assume. why would you want to leave a job that is 5mins from home and colleagues that are damn happening?) and hotter men. dean's the latter, by the way.

so it was a poignant day then, with a sense of belonging as well. at least shouchen is there to keep me entertained and occupied. it will be sad though, not being able to hear choruses of dean and lynda singing hokkien songs and 'there can be miracles' during the day.

or meeting dean's very very gay but illegally goodlooking friends in holland v vis-a-vis alex.

so pretty right?

taken with much admiration and love from dean's blog

ok moment of weakness but we move along.

i spent the evening with dean and lynda exchangeing tales of drunken stupors and ex-bosses. we broke fast together, well i cheated. and when i went home, i realised i only have 12 more days to do this with them.

dean and lynda's 'braveheart war face'.

my pwetty girl who roars at inconsiderate drivers. when i say roar, i mean literally... roar.

dean insists he looks like ex blue member simon webbe. i seriously beg to differ.

i never thought i'll have colleagues who will make a difference in my life like dean and lynda. (ok, shouchen too lah, but he's still here, so no sob story) going to work for 5 months went by really quickly because they made everyday different with their standup comedy and their impromtu office quirks.

i might heart imsg.
but i really really heart dean and lynda. :)

eh, lynda, bring me go canada and meet CUNG!. :) yes i have exclaimationed your boyfriend. and dean, ALEX please.
