summer of 69

and if I had the choice
yah I'd always wanna be there
those were the best days of my life

bryan adams - summer of 69'

yesterday was a total mess. in a fantastic awesome, drunken stupor way.

fional was turning a grand age of 35. so to make it a grand affair, she booked bar none at marriott. it was their last night as a bar (ugh, damn you smoking ban!) and they were having a party as well.

the drinks. i tell you, like fucking never ends. i'm still a little drunk as i type. plus, being one of the 3 girls present out of 20 people, the guys did not let us off.

lets see, the party started at 11, by 1:30 fional was drunk, gone and in danger of sleeping with someone. so pam (the only other cheebye present) sent her home. that leaves a grand total of one girl.

ok lah, they guys were nice, but by 130 i was also a little gone. according to ahfoo, i drank as follows:

three martel with cokes
four shots of sex on the beach
two pints of martell with water (which is fucking gross)
and three shots of special edition watermelon vodka

i didn't even know i could drink that much. and fuck, i couldnt puke. These men are evil, ok. They kept saying i should drink on behalf of the birthday girl. HALLO, the birthday died and went to heaven about half an hour ago!

anyway, thankfully, ahfoo was my designated driver and sent me all the way home to my room. according to him, he said i couldn't even put the key in my door.

when i woke up, i was still in my clubbing gear, reeking of martell and viceroys with a note saying

good morning drunkard, seems you had fun last night. too bad you won't remember, but this is to remind you that AHFOO is a nice man who sent you home in his fucking amazing fuck truck. call me when you wake up paris hilton.

love ahfoo.

cheebye.

so i'm up, hung over. all i have are these pictures i took.

the awesome band who made mambo in zouk feel like barney sing-a-long.

ahfoo and me at the beginning of the night.

benson, accounts servicing. he's one of the sweetest men i know. he told me: "eh, don't drink la, i drink for you." then the other guys just booed him and dragged my only salvation away.

stanley, my project manager and me, getting there. this guy is a fucking beer barrel. he went through about 3 bottles of martell alone.

glenn my love. he's the Managing Director and my cousin. he's the only person in the world who can tell me i love you and i believe him without a doubt.

as for the birthday girl, i've got a load of photos which i have to censor before i let out on public domain.

till then, gabriel and a farm of goats and frogs await me.

you keep me safe

in a crazy world
- corrine may, safe in a crazy world.

the past few days went by very fast.
i went through like 6 packs this week like that.
i think i should really stop, really. OR cut down la. like i use to smoke one pack a week leh.

whoar. now that sounds damn little.

it doesn't help that the office is a smoke-free environment. meaning smoke-freely as you please. in the balcony, at your desk in the pantry. hello? this is the first time in my life i actually have an ashtray.

besides that, it's been a good week. when you are pumped up with nicotine, every thing seems doable. it's almost like a placebo.

a fast run down for the week:

mon: had a 2-6pm lunch break with my team. we drove around aimlessly for half an hour before a sakae sushi promo came up on the radio. lunch buffet. i didn't talk for the 2 hours we were there.

tues: meetings with clients the whole fucking day. tuesday was the worst. there were slow clients, fast clients, i forgot you were coming clients and the best client of all: have lunch with me.

when i told gab about mr. colourful, gab just laughed at me. you are suppose to feel threatened hello?

anyway, things with gab are good. we're, for say the least, happy.

i hope i won't die of lung cancer tml.

like, finally.

did the devil play a trick on you
or god got good at what he does?

dinner with jesus - the wannadies

ohmygod.

i finally have time to sit down and use my personal computer.
the past few days have been, very difficult.
from typing media releases, to editing somewhat rejectable information and set up, tear down for 3 events in the same weekend.

that's 1 on thurs-sat
1 on sat
and 1 on sat-sun.

the zoo was alright, the event went very well. down to the mascot who was suppose to come as an elephant but came as a wizard. we turned it around.

the ps atrium event was... hectic. our host was hospitalized halfway through, so we had to hunt another host. thank you jensen. other than that, the afternoon boiled to an uncomfortable heat and we cooled off with some asahi and hoe gardens. oh and cigs. hello?!

the other event, which i can't reveal location, was... well executed. you'll see why soon.

so when i could head out to bungee bar with matt, sebb, kenn, char, kris and ashton +one, i was so glad i could sit down and drink some beer and actually wait to be served.

that night was brilliant simply because of the company. and of course the hot rugby players. EVERY SINGLE ONE is HAWT. not like ok-hot, but like....hawt. i just want ONE. one can already.

and it was also damn nice to just sit at yassin and eat maggi goreng with ms tong. and low and behold, there was a circus there. they were interesting.

i think my legs just woke up.

the great adventure.

I'm waiting in the afternoon
For the sun to sink
And let the night back in
It's when i feel close to you

powderfinger - wishing on the same moon.

yesterday was merlynn and karen's great adventure under $10 day.
i'm please to say it was an enormous success.

we met at far east and realised we were quite broke and bored of orchard friggin road. it does hold the lusture and mystery of the old town anymore. too many people, too much traffic, too hot, too expensive.

so we decided to walk towards forum, merlynn wanted to see trannies. horny bitch.
then we walked on, for some reason we walked and walked and discovered TANGLIN.

please don't underestimate the beauty of tanglin.

rows and rows of art galleries, marmalade pantry and quaint cafes galore. we carried on till tanglin mall where we found the cutest magic shop with some real old school stuff.

things that laced our childhood, things like old figurines and old practical jokes we could buy. then we ate at a really good food court nearby. DAMN CHEAP AND FUCKING FANTASTIC FOOD. triple F leh don't play play.

feeling a little itchy, we walked around Marketplace, this supermarket where we relived our shopping days with our moms. rows of freezers and nostalgic kiddy food hit us.

coming out of tanglin mall, it was almost 845 at night. and still wanting to spend any money, we decided to do the next best cheap thing.

BOTANICAL GARDENS.

we walked past gleneagles, walked around the gorgeous condos and embassies and strolled into the gardens, in the dead of night.

the garden was very dark, very cooling and very freaking. we were lost a couple of times in the dark and no one near us. we walked on long dim jungle roads and found a part of the park that we never knew existed.

most of all, we laughed the whole way through.

when we came out, it was past 11. yikes. 2 hours in the gardens without even trying.

grabbed an ice-cream and headed home.

total damage: $5.00 for the whole day.

see, it's possible.

mama's high tech.

girl, says mommmy. how do you use the camera?
girl shows mom how to turn on the camera, aim and shoot.
she goes on to show her mother the wonder of zoom and flash
oh, says mommy. that's easy. i can take photos of your graduation then.

how many photos did she take?
0

i have to rely on jules' blog to tell u how graduation 2007 went with our very sexy gowns.

jules is very sexy. i have to admit it. friends for 8 years (we just realised)and through many corny autograph signings, backstreet boys impersonations who would know we would wear sexy gowns, donning kawaii nehx hand signs on graduation.

kudos jules for the pictures (go to her blog for the rest of the supremely funny pictures.

town with them then me and nurul split to coffee coffee on our own. i saw raf's sex hair before his enlistment TODAY. ugh, raf! who is going to make fun of bak kwa with me now that you are on the loveboat sipping martell?

he hopes, in his own words, that there will be flowers on the boat to tekong.

i had fun today, lounging around in town, knowing that now i am part of no institution or school, earning my own keep and paying the bills.

fuck, i'm growing up.
i traded heart stopping mambo moves for hardly stopping round of food at jumbo seafood.
beef, vege, tofu, steam crab, chilli crab, chilli crab (yes twice.) and oh, well i don't know, about 48 mantous.
jumbo seafood no more, welcome jumbo breadshop.

all in the name of janice chua.

was a little apprehensive at first, being a gate-crasher to their annual event. but i'm really glad i came, the night was good to us.

most of all, after a 3 month hiatus, i marrakeshed!
alcohol is not doing it for me anymore, gone are the drunkard days of yore. it's pretty funny to see the one smoking a ciggarette, talking the most, acting the most high, sip some fine quality mint tea.

and with an exception to the most high part, he was the most high that night.

hello, brian

nonethless, i had a great night of conversation, witty remarks, catching up and planning hen parties.
mark, bow tie? no?
and also kudos to brian who thought of an ingenious idea to save on baking a gigantic cake by spray whipped cream on cardboard instead.

it's been a long time since i had a new group of people to mesh with. the dynamics is so different.

it's a nice distraction.

stop crying your heart out

look at the stars, they're fading away
stop crying your heart out, oasis.

i'm back from europe.
alot of things happened there.
from rubbish on the street to heartthrobs.
i had fun, alittle tinge of regret and a lot of european food.

i miss europe sometimes during the day.

the streets were beautiful.

my favourite part of the entire trip was visiting Aushwitz, the polish concentration camp. a little part of me died that day.

back in singapore. back to humidity and stores at open past 8pm.
bye to club backside, cathedrals and fields of gold.

worst of all, i came back to news that made me feel terrible.
it made me feel rather... lousy.
a little bit jealous.
and a little useless.

i guess i need to distract myself.
