girl, don't ever set me free

i always wanna be by your side

i love the new desperate houswives trailer on channel 5. the one featuring Van Halen's remix of the kink's 'you really got me now'. sexx.

okie, i today met the most cheapskate, ugly singaporean, must have face relative. thank God he's distant

he had called us all to go to min jiang at one rochester for dinner to celebrate his son's graduation out of secondary school. apparently, his son retained one year after scoring 32 points and got out with 12 points this year. chey, why newpaper never feature him.

so this uncle, books 4 tables at one of singapore's most expensive resturants (think $100 per head for not much) and to that, my dad gladly accepted the invitation. we all dressed up for dinner.

cheapskate incident number 1 valet parking.
my dad could not get a parking space for almost 15 mins so he decided to valet park. when we told him, HE SCOLDED US.
"why must you valet? $20 you know! can buy one more dish here! haiyo haiyo, now i must give face and give you back the money grumble grumble."

me and my mother stood there. WE DIDN'T ASK YOU TO PAY FOR IT UNCLE JOHNNY CHEAPSKATE. my dad was just telling you.

anyway, my dad declined the money politely but ordered 4 glasses of beer and did not drink a sip. they just stood there, fizzing away. well done dad.

cheapskate incident number 2 table settings.
i was lucky enough to sit at the 'kids' table, meaning people under the age of 25. my elder cousin and i were together. and then suddenly, during the midst of our deep conversation, i see this disgusting luring head.

"hello! everyone, if you can, don't the peanuts and use the towels ok! i think they won't charge one. anyway, the towels got like chemicals not good for your face hor!"

...

alright.

cheapskate incident number 3 the finale.
after a dinner of miniscule portions and minute bites, my family wanted to leave.

CHEAPSKATE: oh, going already?
SOBER DAD: Yah, our children all so big, got their own plans.
CHEAPSKATE: where you all off to?
DISGUSTED ME: oh mahjong at a friend's.
OBLIVIOUS BRO: meeting my fiance.
CHEAPSKATE: ah! karen, you graduated already right? and merv, you got fiance! good good, soon you would have to throw two dinners and i can get my money back.

cue awkward silence.

SOBER DAD: ah, we go already johnny.
CHEAPSKATE: ok ok, see you soon! over sharksfin and abalone!
SOBER DAD: (mumbles) over my dead body.

in the car, we all laughed like there was no tomorrow.

my dad is damn happening.

mahjong nation.

when mark asked me: "hey you want to play majong?"
i took it seriously.

and i won.

the night of 2 marks, one red gerald, one cork-loving merlynn and one bukkake loving karen proved to be very fun. from the darwin awards worthy fuck with the vaccum cleaner to the scary poppins video to astro profiles freaking us out to the inappropriate wine bottle gestures...

you guys made my entire visiting, drinking, smoking, eating chinese new year a blast.

seriously, bukkake is a lot better than scat ok.

day by day account.

day one - visiting, ang pow havesting, sleeping, eating, smoking, drinking, god's kitchen at MoS, fight with friend, go home.

day two - waking up at 6am, visiting, janice's place, steamboat, smokes, visiting, mark's place, drinks, smokes, good conversation, go home.

so if you eliminate all the things that appear once, basically, i've been visiting, eating, smoking and drinking.

isn't life just grand for the graduate.

words of love.

i took this off sammy's blog. it just says everything i want to say to my poly classmates:

"and for all my poly-mates out there, i will not compose entries and articles that will bring tears to your eyes as you reflect on days gone by, of the good times and the bad, of the fun times and the joyous occasions. and i'm damn sure you know i can do just that.

but instead i would like you guys to treat this not as an end, but as a new beginning. for today marks the end of our relationship as classmates and poly-mates. we are not bonded by this material label anymore. today, you have all transcended that stage.

as of today, we are officially known as friends.

thank you all for beautiful memories.
i love you all more than you think.

it's finally

shaun asked me what i did today.

i graduated today.

he said he feels old.

summer of 69'

i am so glad i blew off shaun to watch nick/chapalang/giaotor play with vintage for the last time. no more hot sexx on stage with the vintage people.

and they played all the very nice vintage songs like i'll be there for you, summer of 69' and some nice slow emo songs like you and me. and why emmanuel's name looks like it's vibrating? because throughout the whole time he just shaked and shaked and ran and humped nick and skipped. HE COULD NOT STAY STILL. and he bought one of those things that light up red and green (like those handphone radiators things) and stuck it on his guitar.

i loved their rendition of this song:

he was visable. very very visable.

made in india

yesterday was sandee's 20th. i seriously had not had so much fun in a long long time. in the spirit of art, we decided to have a poetry competition for her:

and she was the guest judge. my poem deserved to win ok. but merlynn won sandee's heart with the potato soup poem. nurul's one was sweet like candy and iylia and ashley's one was very delish.

Then it was daddycool to the rescue. you have to see the footage to believe it. we redid this uber happening dance of the 80s called daddy cool by boney m.

we actually redid this:

and very well.

after we fooled around in marrakesh (omgilovethatplace) we hopped to MoS to dance and party till late.

i am feeling unbelievably vain so.

just so many. i warned you.

you can tell the sun

in his jealous sky, while we walk in fields of gold

i love eva cassidy.

i love her.

because she's gorgeous, because her voice is unmistakably the best voice of this generation, because she's dead at 33 and because she makes music so beautiful.

i love her.

chinese song

i remember back in the day, when massina was an issue for me and my group.
and when we were sitting in the radio room and we were stressed,

aiysah said she knew a chinese song that would cheer us up:

(sung to the tune of 'and they know we are christians:)

there are 5 million bicycles in beijing, in beijing
there are 5 million bicycles in beijing, in beijing
i sat in a car and i felt like i was king
there are 5 million bicycles in beijing, in beijiiinnnngggg
there are 5 million bicycles in beijing.

she knows how to make me laugh.

to bangkok with love.

so i booked my trip to bangkok.

and so far these are the things that are telling me i should not go:

- bombings
- thai people very angry with singaporeans
- malaysians not making it easier for us
- football penalty was totally uncalled for
- bird flu alert
- we almost could book the flights

these are the things that are telling me i should go:

- my very supportive 6 friends who are going
- cheap cigarettes
- cheap beer
- cheap everything
- thai people are deemed one of the friendliest people in the world
- thai people will not do anything if we pay them
- we pretend we are from indonesia/phillipines/somewhere not malaysia and singapore
- my trip is booked.

i'm quite scared about going bangkok actually. but then again, i think i'll be ok.
i hope everything blows over by march.

let's hope together can.

if i could escape

and re-create a place as my own world

when i heard the new gwen stefani song, sweet escape,
i thought S Club 7 was making a comeback.

i spent some time with shaun the other day. sending henry off to russia to complain about his mail-order bride that didn't arrive. he insists that he's going to see his girlfriend who is studying in moscow (how amazing is that) but we all know better.

gab got to eat his burger king again and watch the pretty way-out-of-his-league air stewardess go by.
and mel made us believe she could change the departure board with her mind. she is one of the people in heros.

things have been good. doc pro is finally done. DONE.
that means every single project in my 3 years stint in mass comm is DONE.
that means i have two papers before i am DONE. for good.

damn scary.

and the trip to thailand is also booked. one day after they got pissed with malaysia and us.
and now malaysia also make things difficult for us lowly beings.
haiyo how like that?

at least i have my punto.

i didn't mean for you to get hurt
Forever, we can make it better

i think we can.
