it's such a natural sight

its a supernatural delight
dancing in the moonlignt, van morrison.

its the same song that toploader sang. only, it was written in 1973, and suppose to be a bossa jazz combi song. i like.

our day in snapshots

an adventure awaits

in an effort to save money, me and merlynn went for a free rainforest tour at singapore botanical gardens. it's free and that equates to us being there.

but we ended up underestimating our fitness levels and missed the entire tour. so to act supremely unfazed by singapore's concrete jungle, we pretended to be shina the jungle warrior and walk through a rainforest (bet you didn't know it existed.) on our own.

one concrete path to small to fit both of us side by side, tall trees packed beside us and some 120,000 different species of insects, snakes and rodents. i think we were a bit naive.

nonetheless, we made it and why stop at the rainforest when you have a park that brings you right out of singapore.

the cactus garden, the bonsai park, the sundial garden, swanlake, library of botanics and the botanics lab, ginger garden all covered in one day. actually 2 and half hours.

the sundial garden is seriously, odd. its quite creepy. on the pedestal (the one you see in the montage, 4th and 6th picture) has engravings on it. the words vary from which entrance you come in from. come from the south, it says: "what thou seekest is a shadow. come from the north it says: is a shadow what thou seekest?"

and if you look closely (pardon the knncb samsung), engraved on each side of the cube is a picture of death from different cultures: grim reaper, the faceless man, the beautiful soldier with scarlet robe and the cup of sorrow offerer.

ok. creeps.

after venturing around, seriously having a lot of fun with plants and swans, we walked to tanglin mall to discover singapore's cheapest flea market.

mer: hi, how much is this top?
sales: oh, this top is very nice. i bought it from hongkong about 2 years back. i bought it for like 100 sing dollars. see here got price tag loh
mer: oh it's very nice, but 100 sing is quite steep.
sales: huh? no la, i'm not selling it to you for 100! i just say i bought it for 100. ok la, $6 can?"
me and mer: ?@!#$#%^$%&?!

ok la. so overall, we bought 2 tops, one original snakeskin bag (damn happenings), 3 award winning very good read books, one badge, 2 ciggie tins, one vintage coka-cola lunch box (yay!) for $22.

we were damn shagged from shopping so we took a bus down to russ's place for kopi and dinner. we talked about transformers.

ken: (wiggles his hands above me and mer's head) transform into megan fox!
me: excuse me, i think i need some time.
mer: its not works.
ken: (wiggles his hands above russ's head) transform into a SLIMMER PERSON!

cue russ chokes on hokkien mee

it was a good day that ended with a fruit buffet by russ's poolside. durians, pineapples, cherries, mangosteen, lime juice, grapes and more durian

we public transported back to my place for ocean's eleven. excuse me, can someone get me geroge clooney nekkid for my birthday?

i like days like this. they always make me sleep well.
our spent-not day turned out more happening because we spent 20 bucks.
