the emmy's special.

since the emmy's in town, let's have a little fun

i see the emmys every year on tv, honoring shows we never have on our singapore shores. it's quite sad actually, and some shows are huge hits over in US. So i came up with a list of shows and awards we and they should have.

best CSI-wannabe show on singapore tv - Cold Case

one of the best shows in terms acting and filming, cold case centres around a team of detectives that dig up the past (talk about pack ratting) and try to solve cases that happened like 40 years ago. The filming is superb, better than alot of crap we see on tv.

other nominees
criminal minds - cannot picture thomas gibson in anything besides dharma and greg.
without a trace
law & order special victim's unit

best banned american comedy that will never hit singapore shores due to homosexuality content - Will & Grace

will & grace evolves around the lives of affluent gay lawyer, will trumen and jewish flat chested interior designer, grace atler. Throw in 'he thinks he is god's gift to men' Jack and 'more alcohol than blood in her system' karen, you get the best mix of gay pride and straight up humor. Despite it being so adorable, chic and incredibly quirky, it will never come to singapore so go bit torrent it.

other nominees:
sex in the city - too much sarah jessica's parka.
family guy
little britan - okay okay. they would have won if it wasn't from bloody britan.

best talkshow because singapore doesn't have one (good morning singapore does not count) - talkshow with spike fereston

ok fine, this is shown in singapore and if you have caught it, it is really funny. because it dares to do stupid crazy things that tonight with gurmit doesn't dare. like make pluto cry and get their CEO of tv to lap dance the host. ugh, interested already right?

other nominees:
oprah - she's rich so it's enough for her.
ellen - we have one gay winner, it seems unfair if she won.
david letterman

best documentary that will never be a stay-home-saturday show on channel 5 -road to guantanamo

a story that will both shock you and invoke you, road to guantanamo journeys through 4 friends who take a road trip and end up in a maximum security prison for 3 years. this is a total bias win by the way.

other nominees:
bowling for columbine
inconvenient truth
deliver us from evil

best reality tv show that is not amazing race or survivor - beauty and the geek

haiyo, put a man who has absolutely no chance in hell to date a gorgeous bimbo and you have gold. it's the mere selling of true "love" defeating all boundaries including thick rimmed glasses and the dewy decimal system.

other nominees:
big brother
whose's line is it anyway - the loss was due to lack of gorgeous women in the show. watching 4 men tickling each other might not be as attractive.
pirate master
wife swap - oh, this one won for the 'most number of applicants ever for a reality tv series".

lastly,

best we thought you died - bob saget (entourage)

america's funniest home videos did you well mr saget, then u became some pimp and druglord. not bad for coming back as a snooty neighbour and charming us to remembering how you come through a 70's theme door into our lives.

other nominees:
charlie sheen (three and a half men)
mary kate and ashley (factory girl)
pat sajak (mentioned in kayne west's remix of usher's song: confessions part II)
kiefer sutherland (24)

ok, everything that is bias.
